Message from Monte Stevens
I ventured into the world of digital photography in 2003 by purchasing a Nikon D100 and have not regretted the change. Over the past 2 years I have down sized most of my camera equipment and carry smaller lens due to the amount of travel I do. I upgraded to the Nikon D300 and also own a Canon G12.

I am drawn to shapes, colors, patterns of nature and our landscapes. I find the solitude of nature to be a wonderful place to spend quality time, but find these places are becoming scarce. I have been enjoying playing with portraiture and the studio. With all the travel I've been doing I have also ventured out into streets more looking for the everyday scenes we so often overlook or a perspective we often never see.

Other interests and passions include travel, motorcycle touring, fly-fishing, light hiking, reading, writing and finding a local coffee shop.

I have been a member of PBase since January of 2004 and regularly check out the work people are doing. I enjoy photography and try to develop my skills continuously. I hope you enjoy my images and encourage all feedback. Happy shooting.

I have just started a photoblog which can be viewed here:

“The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.” Black Elk

"Do not pursue the past; do not loose yourself in the future. The past no longer is. The future has not yet come. Looking deeply at life as it is in the very here and now, you dwell in stability and freedom." Buddha
