New Orleans parades always have women's marching and dancing groups participating.
This group of men called the 610 (for a section in the Superdome marked 610) banded together to form a dance team and are really excellent. They must have practiced a lot for this pre-Super Bowl parade held downtown.
There were over 6,000 men in this parade, most of them wearing dresses to honor the memory of the late radio and television broadcaster, Buddy Diliberto, who promised (since 1967) that when the Saints went to the Super Bowl he would wear a dress and dance in the streets. In the parade there were some of the ugliest dresses I have ever seen, think frumpy housewives. And, the beards and hairy chests and legs were not accessories for the dresses. It was such fun, better than Mardi Gras.
