May 11: Listening

Rancho Bernardo, CA

As a result of many reactions to *** Monday’s PaD*** * I am not feeling very positive about the impression I gave everyone about Tom’s listening skills. The reality is that he is a superb listener and cares deeply about what Michele says. I was guilty of posting the image that (1) caught them both in the wide angle lens and (2) had the most drama, and (3) –blush – all my other joint images were out of focus.

So I am here studying my own ability to listen well. Frankly I think I am a world class listener, but does that mean I hear everything? Not really…perhaps I need to listen to myself better? ;-)

This image was cropped and levels with USM. No other manipulation.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
1/30s f/7.1 at 17.0mm iso400 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I have been eschewing on this for a while. Seems like you found a technicality to get around not photoshopping! LOL Funny image, Robin. The Robin on the left is the one I see most often.

You wear many hats Robin. :) Nice job getting those images on the screen and evrything well-exposed.

The guy on the right is obviously Robin's 'conscience'. The Dude on the left, rolling his eyes is the real Robin. The conscience guy is reminding the 'Real Robin' about his promise to refrain from PS-ing. :o)

Jeremy is one step ahead of me in commenting tonight, and stealing all my lines.
I like the SD-From Space poster '>

@Jeremy:
1) Pictures in monitors each were taken separately against a black background. Then they were loaded into the computer. Cropping but not trimming.
2) Picture on right is wallpaper, one the left it is in PS but jut loaded in the preview screen (not edited)
3) Main photo was from camera on tripod shooting from behind me onto my back and the two screens.
4) Thus it is pure photography and I’m pleased that I was able to get enough DOF to have all parts of main scene sharp.

This is almost cheating -- I was sure you had used Photoshop to create the three views of yourself. But I guess you are still eschewing successfully. Nice work.
