They're graceful and efficient in pursuing and capturing their food in water. But it always looks strange to me to see Cormorants in a tree. Perched on a rock out in the water, or on a piling__yes. But with their webbed feet wrapped around a limb?? That still doesn't look right to me. And while I'm at it, what's with the blue eyes??
But catching fish is where their grace and speed in the water pays off. Gulls often try (and occasionally succeed) to steal their catch just after the cormorant surfaces and before it can position the fish to swallow it.
