Thursday Totally Informal Transglobal Challenge: What is It?

... and why on earth is it there!

Nancy got it... it is a fallen gate, that has been propped up and is now forming part of a fence line between two fields... I had to be careful to crop out the barbed wire!

Strange, that although several elements are clearly recognizable (the tree, the metal construction) , it is quite difficult to guess what it is. I dunno either!
