Kotu whilst holding a number of Beachside hotels still has some great birding sites nearby including the brackish Mangrove-lined Kotu Creek, the numerous rice fields & the rough ground/open Guinea Savannah woodland traversed by the Kotu Cycle track.
Behind the Badala Park Hotel is a large lily pond which holds various waders, Jacana, Egrets, White-faced Whistling Ducks & often Sacred Ibis & Greater Painted Snipe. Whilst the Kotu Sewage works & the Fajara golf course provide different habitats and are only a short walk away. With so many hotels nearby a cold beer is always within easy reach!
