Ceylon White-eye (Zosterops ceylonensis)

This endemic White-eye is restricted to the upper hill country being found in the montane forests especially around Nuwara Eliya (c1800 metres) but was replaced by Oriental White-eye at Hunas Falls (1000metres).
The Ceylon White-eye is separated from Oriental White-eye by its slightly larger size, darker olive-green upperparts, dingy greyish-white underparts, heavier bill, different call and by a pronounced break in the white eye ring anteriorly.
This is a restless wee arboreal bird which is constantly on the move, thank goodness for digital as I would have blown a small fortune on film trying to get a decent image!
