PaD January - Black and White
Meike, you asked about my home made light box.
I made it a few years ago to take photos of small objects around the house.
It is made of what we call "foam board" or "display board." The material is
light, easy to cut, and easy to glue. The rim at the top front hides several
whit LEDs shining rearward. Unseen in this photo is a 45 degree piece of foam
board bouncing the light down onto the subject. The light appears to come
all around. Although I bought Radio Shack's brightest white LEDs the overall
brightness is not that great. I always use a tripod. Since these objects are
mostly white I used my dark blue inserts for contrast, otherwise the interior
is all white and light bounces around more. I use my Macro camera for the
light box photos, I used my super-zoom camera to take this photo.
