a small cat's passing - brenda
by

This dear little gal is my beloved Mini, 16 1/2 years old. I took this shot as she lay on my bed in the final stage of her happy (and rather pampered!) life. It was then emailed to a reiki practitioner for distance-therapy assistance. Mini's condition had been fragile for some time as she was just at the end of her resources, beyond medical help, and I felt she should be allowed to pass away in the security of familiar surroundings. Her red blanket had belonged to my late Mom, who was very fond of Mini. She quietly crossed the rainbow bridge a few hours later, on April 9/08. Needless to say, this is why I haven't been around much this week. I didn't think of this shot as a challenge submission until I saw the red element and then figured it might work for the exhibition.

Long time ago I has some pets too and where they gone for different reasons, I was heaving a hard times. I decided to not have one again, even I love animals. Well maybe I'll change My mind when I get more older.
I'm glad she had you in her life, end of Shirley's citation.

Brenda, this brought tears to my eyes. It's sad but more often than not, we see our friends pass. I've always thought that each one would be easier than the previous but it's just the same. they are family and always will be. I've had cats all my life and each and everyone were a joy and a very sad heartache when they pass.

They are our little people aren't they. Our children our loved ones and our best friends. I'm so glad she was somewhere familiar and loving when she crossed over. I really believe her spirit will be very close by until you go to meet her. I really still feel my Gertie and Bobbie are near me. Oh dear, I am crying now. Crying for you Brenda, because I know how that little animal will be sorely missed. It is a beautiful photograph. I am sure you have searched for every photo you've ever taken of her. I'm glad she had you in her life. I already can tell you are a good kind lady. I would hug you if I could.
