I think what I love most about this shot is the background colors. I always see gulls with blue skies or blue water and seeing one on the golden background makes this bird look much more lovely. It's really quite beautiful!

I always love photographing these handsome birds! This is a beautiful juvenile, poised on the edge of maturity and bravely confronting whatever lies ahead. The background colors are so warm and rich. Lovely shot! (I entered a gull too, but very different from this one). Kudos. Brenda
