I had been shooting these tendrils for a couple days when I came across this one in bright sun, but the background in heavy shade... shot a couple stops under to get the exposure right, only minor PP & cropping.

I studied drafting for 4 years, and yep that would be a French curve. I think the French would expect to see a volumptious woman when thinking of French curves. lol

A French Curve is a common (pre CAD) drafting tool for drawing compound curves. Maybe called something else outside the States?
