This lens is my favorite prime on a full frame 5D. It is sharp and focuses extremely fast and it is perfect for portrait as well as capturing actions for indoor sports. The colors and contrast are excellent. On the 5D, its focal length is perfect for actions and portraits. Its bokeh is truly superb.

Finally I had the chance to use this lens at an outdoor event, the 2007 Colorado Renaissance Festival. As you can see from the sample portraits, this lens is perfect for this type of photos.

This lens did extremely well in the BHS basketball photo shoots. It is not as heavy as the 70-200 2.8 IS and is one full stop faster which is essential for indoor sports.
