This is a brilliant shot! The way you composed to get the fence pickets in the foreground to alternate with the more brightly lit ones behind them is pure genius. The contrasts and tonality are so striking. ~VVV~
You know you did everything right here! Light, shapes, interest! I wasn't going to... but I can't help myself. When I saw this I had to laugh a little. My dad built a picket fence around our yard when I was little! It was an attempt to keep me and my brothers in, on the lot as he put it. After about a half a dozen years someone crashed into the fence in a snow storm. My dad was a little lax on getting around to fixing it. One fine spring day my brothers and I tore down the rest of it and stacked it out behind his shop where we kept the firewood. That was a very satisfying day because we hated that fence! Our dad got home from work and we were playing in the front yard. We stopped and waited for the..... to hit the fan. He just looked around, we had cleaned everything up and it was like the fence was never there. He never said a word. Ever! My brothers and I were in charge of keeping the wood box full and we made sure that every piece of that fence ended up there. I know he wasn’t mad and I hope my dad got a chuckle out of it.
