Cottonmouth in the wild

Venomous Snake, aka, Water Moccasin, Swamp Moccasin, Black Moccasin and Viper. Shot at 300mm, found lying in the early sun not very far from a walking trail. Should never be approached under any circumstances.

Dangerous creature. I think the only venomous we have here is the diamondback rattlesnake.
