When I took this shot in January, it was around 15 below and very cold in the wind along the top of the ridge where Mooch and his small band of tow mares were feeding. Wind blows away the snow on the high ridges, the horses won't need to paw it away to get at the dry grass.

Your picture are wonderful. I can see and know that you have really paid a price to get them. I have been among the mustangs and thought it one of the best times in the wilderness. They are so interesting in their social order and their behavior. Thanks for sharing these pictures they are the best I've seen.
