Thank you John - I don't really recall how I exposed it, but I usually use a spot meter and think I metered on an intersection of the river and the trunk.

I have been trying to understand the creation of this image Tim. I am guessing the exposure was to leave detail on the foreground tree and leaves. This left the area across the river somewhat underexposed giving it a watercolor effect. This has given this image that third dimension in a two dimensional photo. However it was created I love the effect. It almost looks like a hybrid photo/painting.
