Whatever and the circumstances and the analysis around this picture, it appeals me strongly..

I was attracted to the colors and forms, but photokhan's explanation of the forces at work here really caps it off. Well done.

OK Thanks for this explanation. For the joke, sorry, but I've just made a confusion between your comment and the one below related to the other picture ruined by a car!! Marc

It is no joke...I really love this one.
It is aesthetically very powerful and it also evokes other levels of perspective. For instance, we the Portuguese have this nasty habit of parking the cars over the sidewalks. As you surely noticed, one of our more traditional features are the stone-decorated sidewalks (Calçada Portuguesa) that can be seen in several of our cities. The constant car parking over them lends to their destruction by abatement, leading to the stone depletion.
Hence, to me, this image is especially evocative. The silhouetted cars (the cause) portray the origin of a problem so well depicted by the small amount of sidewalk stones we see on the ledge (the effect).
That all this is shown to me under some radiant yellow and oranges that come to life under our very special sunlight is only a tribute to your mastery in capturing the Portuguese atmosphere.

Good joke, it took me time to understand!! Means you've seen the other one but in that case there would have been no shot without the cars. Thanks. Marc

My preferred one...Aesthetically perfect!

Who the heaven has parked those blessed cars here? :-)
(sorry, the joke was obligatory, at least for me, great image really)

Fascinating strong and strange mood here, a strong image, I love it.
With kind regards,

Dirk

A+ Marc
