New Visitors

I ran out of the usual seed mix and filled the feeder up with sunflower seeds earlier in the week.
The word quickly spread among the local gold finch community and I think every gold finch in the locality is now visiting our garden.
I counted around ten gold finches after I filled the feeder at lunchtime and it was practically empty when I got home from work this evening.
The downside is that there haven't been as many blue tits or great tits coming this last couple of days.
Reckon I'll have to set up another feeder to keep all my visitors happy.

Hmmm.. so a change in menu brings about a change of guests. I should've thought of that tactic in my own kitchen many years ago :)

classy clientele at your feeder...perhaps the tits prefer the smaller millet seeds...excellent shot here...V

So that's their favourite nibble. I think I shall try the same, they look superb

I see them queuing in the bush :0)
I like the way gold finches always seem to chatter to each other, and hand round in even numbers. They seem very sociable birds.

Great composition with the two birds on either side of the feeder! Lovely color as well. V.

Your goldfinches look much different than ours. They are very colorful. Super detail and I like the one peeking around the feeder. V.
