Inspiration

This shop in the centre of Dundalk, which proudly claims to be one of the oldest arched shopfronts is Europe, provided inspiration for a colleague the other day when we given the task of setting a local history quiz for our readers.
Short on time as usual today, I decided it could be the inspiration for my PAD as I liked how the morning light was shining on it;

I really like that rich green...it's a lovely bright colour on the high street. And you've caught the morning sunlight on it beautifully, too!

that vivid green really glows in this light..and what a novel window with it's oval panes...V

Very nice light on the doorway, nicely composed.

Well, the architectural details are gorgeous. Are the looped windows done with cast iron? Great bright colors, a perky morning scene!

Glorious green! Who could resist going in there!

What a charming storefront! There's no doubt about it ~ this is definitely Ireland! :)

Great store front and beautifully photographed. I don't know what Phone Top-Ups are. Lots to see here. V.

A wonderful shot of this old store front with so much character. Very nice with the vivid green and the details. "V"

Phillip said it for me - very green! I love the shadows on the far right of the doorway.

That's a very eye-catching shade old the 'ol emerald! :o)

They don't build them like that anymore

Nice capture. Town centre shops with character are becoming a rarity. V.

It is great to have charachterful independents. It looks like an interesting shop and from the window display the sale on Christmas goodies has gone well :0)

And more importantly you could get not 40%, but 50% off all Christmas stock!
Stores like this do have a certain character that you won't find in the equivalent Westfield mall. They're probably tight, hard to maintain and a visual merchandiser's nightmare, but do provide a feel of times past.

The morning light is indeed pretty and the colors are wonderful. I like how the light is hitting the newspapers. Maybe they have some enlightening stories in them!
