And the Clocks Went Back.....

British summer time has ended so the evenings are darker, meaning it will be harder than ever to keep up with my PAD project. That said, I don't know if I would be in favour of plans being proposed in Britain to adopt Central European Time. It would be nice to have an extra hour's brightness on winter evenings but I don't like the idea of darker mornings with the potential for more ice on the roads when I'm setting off for work. If Britain went ahead with the proposal, Ireland would have to follow.
And given the time of year, I've put together a Halloween gallery of some images I took last year but never uploaded:

Could be worse - you could be living near the north pole and only see an hour of Sun "if "you're lucky!

A perfect portrayal of a late autumn evening. Love the strong light and dark in the sky that you captured so well. V.

A mellow image, end of the day tranquility. Beautiful. V

Our clocks go back next weekend, and the days get dark even earlier then!

The end of our daylight savings time in the US is approaching soon. I will miss the extra hour of brightness as well.

I live in Qld where we still don't have daylight saving...the curtains fade and the cows don't milk...apparently :O) It's been 30 years since we left Victoria and I still miss not having it.
I would not like that early unsafe driving either!

What a great sky!
Agree that darker evenings are going to make PADs harder.

Beautiful image Mairead...Our clocks went back too and although I did enjoy the extra hours sleep I wasnt too happy when it was getting dark before 5pm...Our days are very short in the winter and I look forward to snow to brighten the days...BV

Ours go back next week. :-( One week closer to spring I guess! Nicely composed. V

And the Governement comes up with another daft idea that might suit a few suits in London.

earlier dark in the evenings can be seen as a plus...for the next 5 or 6 months the tripod can be called regularly into play...no need to crank the ISO when the camera is stable and patient...have yet to adjust the clocks here, yet it is sometime soon....doubtless the day will be surprising and disruptive...V
