Public Transportation

As one of our favourite coffee shops is closed for rennovations (see Wednesday's image) we
caught an Eco Taxi to another restaurant owned by the same couple when we went for
our morning coffee today. It was fun being transported through the streets of Dundalk
in these pedal-powered vehicles. Normally they operate in Dublin where they are sponsored
by a soft drinks company and take people to and fro in the city centre. The enterprising
coffee shop owners had engaged them to ferry customers from one restaurant to another.

Looks like he has been slip streaming and is now going to overtake- great story and capture.

We have some of these around Sydney as well; I've sometimes thought that perhaps I should get a part time job driving one. Not because I need the money, just the exercise. Aside from the story it tells, I like the number of "lines" in this shot; the edges of the buildings, the poles, the pavement guttering, the trees, the borders of the mesh... it's very geometric without even trying to be.

Looks like a fun ride, but I always feel guilty when I see these sorts of vehicles - I feel like I should help to pedal the thing or get out and walk!

I like it.

a green alternative indeed...and likely moving at a good unhurried speed to enjoy the short trip..

Fascinating. I never knew such things even existed. What great exercise for the driver!

Nice documentation and nice to see carbon-free transportation!

The owners are very clever to keep your attention during the renovation. Love the POV through mesh. Cool transportation!

I was wondering if you'd suddenly gone to the Orient :)

I've never ridden in one of these. Was it fun?
