Barmeath Castle

A number of private houses in Co Louth opened their gardens to the public
today to raise funds for charity. I managed to visit Anaverna House close
to where I live and also Barmeath Castle (above).
Barmeath Castle dates back to the 15th Century.
In the late 17th century the building was extended and fine Georgian interiors were commissioned .
I love visiting these 'Big Houses' with their beautiful gardens and it was great to
see some which are normally out of bounds.
It was a lovely summer's day and I took loads of photographs which will
be uploaded to a new gallery shortly.

It's amazing to think that someone actually lives in these buildings and they're not all museums. It's an outstanding image with that wonderful reflection.
