An autumn morning

It's mid-term break here so my mornings aren't as hurried as usual as I don't have to drop my son at school
before making it to work.
I'm not a morning person, so you won't find many pictures of sunrises in my galleries unless they're from around the winter solstice.
This week, however, I have time to stop to take a hurried snap in the early morning light. I drive past Ballymascanlon village every day and thought it looked particularly pretty in the morning sunlight today.
Built to house the workers in the nearby Big House, one of whose residents was Ireland's oldest woman before she
died aged 111, it is now derelict and slowly crumbing into decay.

What a loss...both the old lady who's stories would have been varied & this charming cottage

Shame about the neglect, but good that you've kept a photographic record of them whilst they're still in one piece!

What a terrible shame. It does look so pretty in this light.

pretty indeed...laced with vibrant colours..this building seems solid enough..and the living spaces still worth saving..two apartments perhaps a little dark and dank..yet in the end probably a place to be preserved...V

The climbing roses they planted are still flourishing. This village has such a nostalgic air.

Great shot, I love the size of the roof tiles, and the strange chimneys
