All week I've been giving out about work. A colleague who is on maternity leave hasn't been replaced, a common
enough phenomenon in the recession, so it's busy, busy, busy. Today I felt as though I'd typed my fingers
to the bone. But I know I shouldn't complain. I'm lucky to have a job, and a job I love at that. And, after reading a comment by a fellow pbaser, I know I'm lucky that 'my commute' is a mere 10 or 15 minutes depending on the traffic.
I have the privilege of living in the beautiful Irish countryside and being able to work in a bustling provincial town. Even
on my short journey, I pass some eye-catching scenery. I can follow the changes of the seasons as I pass by woodland and farms, over the river and along the estuary. Often I wish I could stop the car, get out and take a photograph, but I'm usually in a hurry, having to do the school run before getting to the office.
Now that the hours of daylight are dwindling I'm more conscious of needed to get a pic for my PAD, so on my way home at lunchtime (now that's a luxury I do appreciate), I pulled in and got this photo of a mighty oak tree in its autumn colours.
