The Black Rock - An Charraig Dhubh

A sculpture by Rowan Gillespie reflects the name of a nearby village. Whenever I pass this it reminds me of the legend of Oisín, who on returning from a 300 year spell in the Land of Youth thought he'd be able to lift a similar stone singlehandedly. He wasn't. A simple version of this story is here: http://www.askaboutireland.ie/show_narrative_page.do?page_id=2075

So...this explains a great many ancient monuments :o) I'm not sure exactly how you did it, but this seems to capture the weight of the stone pressing down on them very well.

The question is of course: Is black a colour??? ;-)
Again a lovely sculpture and a very nice picture.

Very nice. I mostly prefer to be on any other side of a rock though.
