This Celtic cross stands in the main street of our village and is one of the oldest of the so-called Fassaroe Crosses. There is a human head on one side and a motif on the other side. There are close links with St. Mochanna and the Celtic foundation in Monkstown. The cross belonged to the Cheevers and Byrne families (linked through marriage), dates from the eighth or ninth century and was used as a boundary marker for the city jurisdiction limits
