Moth Prep

The Maglite flashlight is used outside with the 'Souffle' cups to trap the moth attracted to the UV light and white sheet.
The thin stiff paper is slid under the moth to trap it in the cup and the lid snapped on.
Inside, the paper is slid under the cap and the cup inverted on the selected photo substrate until the moth settles down.
The substrate is 1/4" thick Plexiglas that is frosted on both sides using 320 grit emery sandpaper. This eliminates shadows and reflections.
A 1/4" solid cardboard piece that is soaked in ammonia cleaner is sometimes slipped in to slow the moth down. Most moths recover.
Microfiber cloth is used to wipe moth scales off the substrate and out of the cups.
