September 2012 (going home)

Snoqualmie Pass, Washington

Almost home...Only thirteen days passed since I photographed myself here at the start of a road trip to Moab, Utah. This trip was a short one. I had not planned it that way, but nature has a way of interfering with one's plans.

While hiking in Moab I developed an eye problem (since resolved) that caused me to head home prematurely. Only one other Utah trip (March 2007) was shorter and that's because I flew from Seattle to Salt Lake City and back, saving me about six days of driving. I took this picture at 7 p.m. and got home an hour later.

Camera support for this documentation was provided by Ralph Tripod.

Glad to hear you're ok. Sounds dangerous, though.

Thanks, Vern.

Larry---the D100 died in October 2006 at the Oregon-California border (http://www.pbase.com/listorama/photo_cameradeath ).
This 2012 trip had a different type of optical drama: the vitreous humor (fluid sac) of my right eye separated from the retina.
It did not affect my vision, except for a series of bright flashes for a few hours.
It’s a normal part of ageing and my eye is all right.

Great photo. Was that trip you're speaking of when your camera went down?
