Philippine Coucals at Subic

Fatbirder's Top 1000 Birding Websites

By using my vehicle as a blind, I was able to get close to several Philippine Coucals (a Philippine endemic) that are trying to dry off their typhoon-soaked feathers early in the morning at Subic rainforest. The 500 f4 IS, bare or with a 1.4x TC, was very effective in hand held shots from the vehicle. These are the most detailed pics I have captured so far of this endemic coucal.

[NOTE - ID has been corrected to Philippine Coucal from Lesser Coucal, thanks to Steve Pryor for the ID confirmation.]
