At 160 mm total length, this fellow is one of the world's smallest birds of prey and it's endemic to our islands. It prefers to stay in the canopy or on top branches of dead trees in the rainforest, from where it hawks insects. Its relatively very small size, plus its high habitat, makes it a very tough customer for me to photograph well. I got lucky to get close to an immature one at Subic rainforest recently. It displaces a photo of the same species in my top list because of better technicals - detail, perch, background, lighting and angle.

Great shot as always! Master Romy, you have to show us how to do that unobtrusive yet effective watermark.
