My Favorites (with Animated Birds)

This gallery, a work in progress, contains my favorite wild bird pics. These are my favorites because I just like how the pic turned out, or there was an interesting circumstance behind the photograph. A new gallery of animated birds, mostly in flight, was just added (August 6, 2005), as I learned somehow to use Adobe ImageReady in creating "video clips" from bursts of still pics.

The gallery has been split into several sub-galleries for easier browsing. Each photo contains the bird's ID, scientific name and habitat, as well as location of the shot. Camera settings during shooting and the date when taken are indicated in the EXIF data.

Mr. Romy! hi! i love and envy your photos! how i wish i also own the same equipments as you are using..i have these very few bird photos for my thesis, and they are ok. what i did is i positioned my digital camera's lens to ms. alice's scope's lens. the blue-tailed bee-eater, common and blue-collared kingfisher, and colasisi as my first lifebirds! i will be facing my thesis defense this last week of january. hope it gets well.^^ and even though you didn't know, your works are one of my inspirations. thanks a lot!! and special thanks to the wbcp!!

nys work... balak ko din magkaroon ng ganito... anong claseng camera ba ang ginamit mo... dito kasi ako sa cotabato nakatira and many birds can be found here. some of them are endemics... astig ka pare... keep it up!

Hi Angeo, The Philippine Eagle is not easy to capture in the wild, as it ranges in the remotest corners of our archipelago (Mindanao, and Sierra Madre). Photographing it in its natural habitat would require enormous logistics (not to mention safety concerns) which as a mere hobbyist I don't have at the moment. Besides, our national bird is already very well documented in photos. I'd like to prioritize the lesser known endemics first. Regards/

Very, very beautiful images. Those birds must be hiding. I havn't seen them when I was in the Philippines. I was not even aware they may exist.

Romy, hey rather than the habitat comment why dont you place the date and why the shot is your favorite, would be fun to read about what made it great for you :-) Lovely pics - so happy to finally see one of YW Bulbul, its the first I have seen of this supposedly 'common' spp. Congrats & hope we will go out sometime together!
