Fantastic shot. Wish you didn't go so overboard on the saturation, though, the bird's feet look damn near radioactive!

Aside from the non-natural perch, all elements in this capture are something that I'd willingly exchange an arm and a leg for. One of the more difficult Philippine endemics to find and see, this bird inhabits dark mountain streams. Finding and seeing it is definitely enough to make a serious birder's day. Photo-documenting it, no matter how lousy it is captured, would multiply that joy ten-fold.

But to find and capture it with this extraordinary amount of detail, in soft color-enhancing light, is an out-of-this-world experience. This is probably the most detailed pic of this species ever taken in the wild. I'm glad that my equipment, clumsy photography technique and meager birding skills came together to make this possible.

This photo of one of the world's most beautiful kingfishers is on top of the food chain as far as my Top endemics list is concerned.

I could vote for this gallery based on this image alone, but the work you've put into the shooting and cataloguing makes this one of the most exceptional ever posted here.
Bravo! Cheers! And congrats on this fine work.

I'm no bird expert but the picture is execptional in color rendition, sharpness, and details.
Your technic is excellent and so must be your digital darkroom skills.
