First Masinloc Lifer

Fatbirder's Top 1000 Birding Websites

I drew first blood in Masinloc (Zambales Province, Philippines) this July 6th and 7th, with the capture of the uncommon and shy Ruddy-breasted Crake (Porzana fusca). The 20D + 400 5.6L + Tamron 1.4x TC was used on the 6th, while the 350D + Sigmonster (Sigma 300-800 DG) took over on the 7th. Light was not too good due to the overcast caused by exiting typhoon "Emong," but I'm not complaining - a lifer is a lifer...;-)
