This past year, my brother gave me a Nascar Ride-Along experience as a present. So, on 5-3-2014 we were off to Richmond International Raceway, about a 2 1/2 hour drive. Upon arrival, I checked in and was sent to one of two lines .... drivers and riders. Quickly I was given a hair cover to put under the helmet. I put the helmet on and waited patiently for the next ride. I wasn't sure what to expect but no real surprises. I climbed in through the window and got buckled in. And, then we were off to the races. We flew out of the pit area and proceeded at full speed for 3 laps. It was all over in less than 3 minutes. It was an exhilarating experience. Richmond is a 3/4 mile track so speed was kept to a minimum. I think top speeds for Nascar at Richmond are about 125 mph. I would like to attempt a larger track. In summary, it's rather expensive (of course mine was free) but makes a nice gift for the person you don't know what to get. But, to drive over 100 miles for 3 minutes of action .... only you can decide. You can get longer rides or even drive, but it's rather costly. And, I didn't even see a current Nascar driver. They were there the week before.
