I retired in 2003 and, shortly thereafter, decided to pursue nature photography as a retirement pastime. It has become an expensive passion because I am seldom satisfied. I am into my 3rd digital SLR. Most of us have lens envy because it seems that we never have enough lens. I started out with a 70-300mm which proved, too often, to be not enough lens in the birding world. I finally broke down and bought the Nikkor 500mm lens. Although cumbersome to carry around, with a Gitzo tripod and Wimberley head, it has served me well. I now use it probably 90% of the time. I am still learning but have made significant inroads both in learning the camera basics as well as anticipating wildlife behavior. I welcome all comments, good and/or constructive. I am cognizant that there is always room for improvement. I hope you enjoy looking at my gallery(s) of photos. Thanks for stopping by .....
