Picture the scene – it’s 10.30pm or so and I’ve just climbed off the train home from ‘the smoke’. I have spent a long, arduous day working – meetings, meetings and more meetings. I was up at 6am and I’m tired beyond belief. I have not looked at a computer all day.
I decide to do this shot for one reason only. These boots have saved me over the last two days of charging around the place working. I love them. They’re comfy, warm and I like to think they’re rather dapper too. I felt I cut quite a dash in my swirly long skirt, new bag and these.
Let’s face it, the shot’s not even that good – it could have been much better lit but that’s just the way it goes. You win some, you lose some.
A couple of years ago, I did a little series of feet shots over a bank holiday weekend. I did another one only a few weeks ago. So it occurred to me that a shot of these would complement my earlier efforts well….. though that was before seeing the pics on my PC rather than the back of the camera.
Imagine my surprise and (to be frank) gloom to find yards and yards of shoe shots on the meta-gallery. I’m sorry but ‘themes’ and ‘challenges’ aren’t what it’s all about for me but by the time I’d realised what was going on I was too exhausted to go back and find something else to photograph. So, here’s yet another shot of feet….to go with all the rest. Still, on the bright side I suppose it has taken away the usual yards of pets, tits and flowers.
Apologies to anyone who is avidly scrolling down my text thinking they’ve got a willing participant in the game, it’s just an unlucky quirk of fate – no offence, it’s just not my thing. This is a diary. I did think about ‘cheating’ and shooting another pic today (Friday) or posting an old shot but the stubborn old bag in me hates to let my own principles down after doing this for almost three years with a new pic every single day – it would have been failure. That’s why you’ve not seen this in the meta-gallery - famous last words - just seen it - I didn't realise it would do that......bugger
Last year, I was getting on my high-horse too - that time about the next great money-making scam for the card manufacturers - Valentine's Day!
