…I’m gonna getcha….
This is ‘our town’!
We (well, I actually) survived an afternoon at the dentist and I must say I’d worked myself up into a right old stew about it, being a complete coward as I am.
In fact, I must confess to having a very pleasant experience – a ‘typical Cornish’ old hippy of a dentist (and I’d been convinced because it was an emergency service I’d get some kid fresh out of dental school and in his third week as a locum who knew nothing). He was kind, concerned and gentle and the whole experience was actually (BIG confession now) quite painless. Phew!
Once that was over, in a bid to keep the spectre of tomorrow at bay for a few more hours, I’ve come home to think about tonight’s footie – a crucial game vs Man City away. They’re ninth and we’re fourth but they’re certainly no pushover side.
I was checking out my year ago link and in another of those spooky coincidences that my diary is riddled with, we were playing a Manchester side on this day last year and my ‘big night in’ was a storming success of a pic…..shame about the outcome of the game. (I’m not going to explain now – go back and read last year’s entry....and you MUST - it's really important)!!!!
So, we’re off down the pub to see the game and I want to see a good result to make me feel that the bogey-men that followed me around last year have been dismissed for 2006. I’ll let you know later!!!
In a bid for ‘glory’ once again I’ve got on all my lucky gear – under and outerwear. I’ve had my tea in my Spurs mug and I’ve made DM get ‘dressed up’ too. I hope the team knows how much effort we go through on their behalf each week and how much heartache we suffer when things don’t go well.
The next few hours will see my mind occupied totally by footie – then all I have to do is sleep!!!!!
STOP PRESS: Spurs won – 0-2 in a thrilling match where we dominated all the way. Our goals were magnificent and our nerve unswerving – all together a wonderful evening!
