There are a few things in life that are absolute certainties, one of which is that, left alone with a tennis ball, JD will “just destroy” it. In fact this is true of any dog toy left lying about. This means that we have to take their toys away when we are not actively playing with them or I end up picking their pieces up off the garden a couple of days later after they’ve acted as a gastro-intestinal exfoliator! We have no idea what the JD was named after – it was his moniker long before we met. On a good day, he’s generally regarded as being named after Jermain Defoe, on a bad day, either Just Destroy or Jack Daniels!
Today the dogs came in from their trip to the field to play tennis ball and unbeknown to us, Lola had sneaked a ball inside without it going back into the toy box. I wandered into the sitting room a couple of minutes later to find this. Still, what’s the cost of a second-hand ebay tennis ball compared to dog happiness?
In addition to dog happiness today, there has been human happiness. DM has spent an hour noodling on one of his guitars and I’ve been listening in from the kitchen where I was ironing. He has also cleaned the sensor dust from my camera and his own, done some tinkering on the Cortina and generally done some tidying around. It’s really good to get my husband back.
As for me? I’m still prevaricating – changing sheets, washing, ironing, cooking, doing non-course related internet “research”. Anything rather than knuckle down and do studying. I REALLY must do better.
