The legend and myth of the rocks as told was that there were three trolls namely: skessudrangur, laddrangur and langhamar who were pulling a three masted ship into the shore, but they were caught at dawn by sunlight and turned into rocks.

with a story like that, no wonder, that i can feel a strong energy towards the place - maybe the trolls were longing to break through of their rock state and their cries were the howling winds and raging waves of the north atlantic ocean - who knows?
