Thanks for your comments and interest. As far as I can determine, the Nephila spp. are not poisonous. I note that my spider reference books indicate that this spider is typically found in the Southeastern United States. It is of interest that you have found this spider in Argentina. Nice picture. Thank you, I identified by this a Nephila Clavipes in my own garden (Tucuman, Argentina). I wonder, are they possonous?
