White-marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar Parasitized by Wasp Larvae (8316 )

Copyright © Lewis Scharpf

Orgyia leucostigma
Beneath the caterpillar is a cocoon formed by parasitic wasp larvae that have
been feeding inside the caterpillar.
The caterpillar actually ends up providing some protection for the cocooning wasps.
