The Inside Passage is a coastal route for ships and boats along waterways which weave through the islands of the Pacific coast and North America.
The Alaska portion of the passage extends 500 miles in length and 100 miles in width. The Tongass National Forest, the northernmost rain forest in the US, is a major feature of the Inside Passage.
