The Patriotic Hammock

Northport, ME

There is much I love about my country and some I do not. I am not much of a flag-waiver (especially with the present administration); to me it is the equivalent of waving the BIG foam fingers at sports games – each side claiming to be “number one”. My politics of late follow along the line of a bumper sticker I have seen that says, “I love my country, but I think we should start seeing other people.” At least I still have a sense of humor.

And so there was something about this flag with a hammock slung below it that just struck me as funny too, and, well...American!

This image is in response to Thursday's Totally Informal Transglobal Challenge. The theme for July 3, 2008 is "My Country". To see the interpretation of other participants click here: http://form.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=38004

This is a great post... I love your sense of humor and I totally agree with your "foam finger at the sports game" analogy.

That flag will provide a nice fluttering shade for you.

Couldn't find an extension cord long enough for the fan? It's a good work around : )
virginiacoastline03-Jul-2008 12:53
well how nice to have that flapping lazily over your head in the shade =)
Greg Christie03-Jul-2008 12:53
Nice find but perhaps it's just a sun shade.

The flag is probably there as a fan to keep the air cool? Beautiful setting for relaxing in!
