On this day, the gusts of wind reached 56 mph ... the most exciting winds I have experienced while hiking. 60 mph winds are referred to as KNOCKDOWN. We were near knockdown on several occasions descending from the summit; only moving between gusts and hanging on for dear life if the gust kicked in before we could hang onto a boulder! It was exhilarating!
My friend, Donna, took the pic below when I arrived at the summit...just before I took my own SP.
