Elm sawfly larva (Cimbex americanus)

Larose Forest

Found on a willow shrub, one of their preferred plants it seems (also found on elm, alder, prunus and some other species). Larose has a super abundance of native and non-native willows so this species will never run out of food, yet despite that, they are never seen in big numbers and the adults are infrequently seen, at least by me.
