Trapdoor spider burrow

This burrow was dug out of red clay soil many, many years ago in Jamaica (not by me). The burrow is quite a remarkable construction, solid as can be, no crumbling even after so many decades. It is about 2 inches long, so the spider that once used this must have been fairly large. I have no idea which species of trapdoor spider used this, maybe Ummidia sp?

Very interesting home for a spider, who must be good builders! V.

I'm chuckling about the Ganja spider comment... but, this is an amazing burrow. Very cool. V

must have been a toughie, male or female, as this burrow/trap required some effort to construct...so Jamaican?...perhaps a 'Ganja' Spider high on expectations....
