Goodbye, Alfred....

It saddens me no end to write the above, but last night I discovered that beautiful Alfred had died. He was found to have a heart condition, blood clot and other ailments that were causing him great pain and there was little hope for any sort of recovery. It all came on very, very suddenly and just as suddenly, Alfred was gone. He was 10 years old.

Although not our cat (lived one house down), he was most definitely a welcome and enjoyable addition to our household, visiting frequently both inside and outside. He was unique, charming, unusual, and chock full of personality and character. It is going to be hard on us and all the neighbours, not to mention his owner, who loved him over the years. For all the sadness I feel at the loss, he might as well have been my cat. I will really miss him.

At least I have hundreds of photos of him, some of which are on this gallery.

I am saddened to learn of Alfred's departure from this world, Christine. He was a character and a frequent visitor to your garden and house. I will miss your photos of him relaxing in your garden waiting for you to to come home with a treat for him. This is a beautiful tribute for Alfred!...

It's always so tough to say goodbye to a four legged friend. He looked like a real sweetheart. I'm sure he had a great but too short a life. V

This is very sad. I lost not long ago my favourite cat and I realize how you must feel.
Luckily there is still George, let's hope he'll live long.

Oh boy, I'm so sorry to hear that he's gone. Like most cats with this coloring, he was a charming and social cat and I've grown very fond of him through your photos and because of his likeness to my Finnegan. I'm so sad. :(
