Shrew tracks

Shrew tracks were abundant today. The recent snowfall highlighted the tracks of these small animals. Not sure which species, but I'm going to guess that all the ones I saw were made by the Short-tailed Shrew (Blerina brevicauda), as it is the most common one here. It is also our biggest shrew and is the one most likely to be seen.

You have to take pictures of one so I'll see how it looks. V

Can't wait for snow so I can see what's around :-)

A bonus from having snow is the chance to see these tracks - you have sharp eyes and the knowledge to see them.

Interesting pattern of tracks, and I like the sparkling snow, too. Would be nice if you could capture the shrew that goes with the tracks! V.
