Mud-dauber wasp nest (Sceliphron caementarium)

This clay nest was found inside a shed. It was made by a mud-daubing wasp and each cell would be stocked with paralyzed spiders. There are 7 exit holes in this nest but there may be another one or two un-opened cells. The wasp that makes these clay nests is a large black and yellow member of the Sphecidae family.

Sounds delightful ;-). For once I feel sorry for spiders! Great find and capture, Christine. V.
