There are many species of scarab beetles in the Ottawa area, including the non-native and destructive Japanese Beetle, as well as the "June Bugs" which are really beetles!
Wow, such a beautiful capture of a striking beetle. Amazing detail in the body, even showing off those little hairs (?) well. I could never get this close to a beetle for a picture so am glad you can ;-). V.
